Go Noles...

Despite the fact that I enjoyed the final FSU game against Wisconsin stone sober and semi-buckled over from a stomach virus it was nice to see the Noles win their 9th game of the year and have some positive momentum heading into the '09 season. It amazes me how pathetic northern football is compared to southern football (for the most part). I still remember when we put the beat down on Michigan in the 'Big House' in '91 or perhaps the most severe beating I have witnessed when we beat Ohio State in the Sugar Bowl after the '97 season.

When I was going through pictures I came across a few 'lost' stories of the '08 season...

1. Have I mentioned how I am a closet FSU koozie collector? Every time we go to the liquor store in Tallahassee before a game I buy a koozie. It does not matter that I already have 8-9-or 10. It has become an annoying tradition that annoys Mauri! :-)



2. Many years ago I would wear my Charlie Ward jersey to games much to the chagrin of any girl I was dating or had remote contact with. To this day I try to wear it, but Mauri says no. Typically she will let me wear it... inside the house, during the game, and only with the blinds drawn. It was with great satisfaction that Mauri wore the jersey for work on Halloween. Her co-workers decided to dress up as a fan of their favorite team. This was the result...



3. I am on my 300th set of FSU car flags. Some have been vandalized like when my friend James brought his girlfriend Julie and she proceeded to let the car windows down letting the flags fly across the interstate. Those replacement flags met a horrible fate like that of a hostage with the Taliban... we used the farm SUV for our trip to the BC and UF games. Apparently, it is taller than Mauri's Acura as we ended up with some fallen soldiers as we pulled out of our parking deck...



Luckily, Mauri's sister bought me new ones for Christmas! A new start for the '09 season!!

4. Great traditions for the UF game continue... Mauri and I made our blackened Gator meat for the UF game again. It was delicious as always...



and the Gators decided to wear their jorts...



Gotta love the Gates!!! Lets hope and pray that Oklahoma drills them this Thursday! If that happens there will be lots to be happy about as we wait for September to roll around!!
