While much of the country has not seen major shortages in gas... here in the south have had a terrible time finding it... especially in metro Atlanta. The gas 'crisis' has been going on for 20 days now and started b/c of a diminished refining capacity after hurricanes Ike and Gustav.
Thankfully, Mauri and I don't drive a lot so we can go a while without filling up. But what about all the folks that live in suburbia and have to drive 30+ miles to and from work? It sucks to be them for sure.
Since Mauri's tank was down to about a 1/4 we decided to drive past a few stations on the way home from bootcamp to see if we could get lucky and find some gas. We drove by 3 stations and none had any gas. It is so crazy to look up at the signs and see no numbers there the price should be.
Luckily, Mauri was able to get gas at 6am at a station that a truck had just filled up so now Mauri is running at full capacity.
By coincidence, a friend sent me this link of a map that does search on gas prices and when the station most recently received gas. Kinda cool.
Anyway, check it out... and happy hunting!
