What is this? A picture of yours truly holding a little bundle of joy!!! Last Sunday Mauri and I went to Macon to visit her friend, Cherann, and her new little boy, Bennett. We had a great time visiting. As you can see above, I actually held Bennett for several minutes. He was a cutie. I guess I looked pretty comfortable with him because Mauri and Cherann left him with me while they went across the street to her parent's place to get something. Five minutes later they returned and we were both still alive!!! Yeah!
Now here is something that falls under the 'full disclosure act.' Apparently Mauri packed an extra outfit (keep in mind that this was a day trip). When I asked her why she said it was in case Bennett threw up all over her or something! What? Was I told to take a second outfit just in case? Nooooooooo!!! Here I was sitting with this innocent looking kid all by myself and little did I know he was a ticking time bomb ready to explode at any moment!!! Nice.... I wonder what other little secrets my wife is keeping from me? Can his head explode like in Scanners? Will another kid pop out of his stomach like in that 80s mini-series, V? I might need to read up on these 'kid' people before I agree to have one!
In other news... my training at CNN got put off until August 13/14. Also, I got a call saying I am a finalist for a job in Tulsa. Good grief! It is 6 figures, but... it's still Tulsa! :-( Oh well, we will see.
Finally, we are headed to Chicago in just a few hours for Mauri's cousin's wedding. It should be a blast. We are staying at some swanky hotel called, The James. The wedding is Saturday evening.
On Sunday we are going to the Cub's game!!! They are playing the Pirates. I have never been to Chicago (other than the airport) and I am ecstatic to go to Wrigley Field to see the Cubs! Thanks for hooking us up Uncle Robert!!!
We fly back Monday evening just in time for Mauri to go back to work.
Have a great weekend!

Glad to see the update--I wondered where I would see your famous face next. Best of luck to you. You & Mauri will be in our thoughts.
You look good holding a baby! If you want to take a try at entertaining/managing THREE, give us a call. But, if you just like babies, I can help you there too.

Sarah says Tulsa rocks!
Take the 6 figures and run (or drive, whichever is easiest).
Isn't Tornado Alley a weatherman's dream?
