So, because my sister and brother-in-law both went to Tech I have been to my fair share of games over the years when FSU is not playing. I like Tech ok and think their stadium is a nice place to see a game with a great back drop. That being said, I have never sat in the 'new endzone.'
We sat in Sect 210. Endzone of course... I was expecting that. What I did not expect it to have a freakin OBSTRUCTED VIEW with a light pole in front of us!!!!!!!!

I mean dear God... this is an engineering school (and architecture school)!!! How does the endzone built like 5 years ago have an obstructed view?!?!? This is not Fenway, or Wrigley, or some weird old stadium. This section was built in the 2000's!!!
The fact that Tech never sells out baffles me as to how the seats in that section were so important that they needed to have seats behind a light pole?!?!?!?
On a smaller note... could the men's restrooms in the new endzone be more poorly designed? The random three urinals right at the entrance that blocked the path to the majority of urinals in the back was a nice touch.
The fact that the concourse was not big enough to accommodate the lines for concessions and people moving along the concourse was a nice touch too.
Again, this was all done in the 2000's. Makes you appreciate Doak all the more.
My final complaint was that our parking lot had 1 freakin' porta-potty for all those people!!! The line was crazy and you needed 2-3 beers while you waited for your turn. Needless to say with that many people using one bathroom, it was pretty nasty by the end of the day.
My rant is done.

Our tailgate itself was very good. We were set up at 6am, went to the airport to get James and Julie, and then returned to the lot by 9am. I am not sure of the exact numbers, but I would say we had 20+ easy. Mauri did a great job as host as I manned the grill for the burgers and brats.

As for the game, it was very exciting. We started off on fire, cooled down for 2 quarters and then caught fire in the 4th. Unfortunately, when we were dominating and about to score to win... we fumbled at the 1 yard line to lose the game. Drat!!! I guess Tech was due after 33 years since their last victory against us.
I was very disappointed in the defense. They never caught on to the triple option until we injured their starting quarterback (after that Tech gained just 17 yards). Had that not happened I doubt we would have almost pulled out the victory because we never were able to play disciplined defense. Playing the triple option is akin to playing a knuckle-baller in baseball. Very frustrating.
Our offense was pretty unstoppable all day. I was very impressed as the Tech 'D' is pretty good and I remain very encouraged for the future... especially since we are one of the youngest teams in the country (three true freshman on the O-line alone). 2 years from now we will be scary good!
We have games the next two weekends in Tallahassee against Clemson and BC. Both will be tough, but we should be favored in both and Mauri and I will be there. If we win our next three we could make it to the ACC Championship game in Tampa. That being said, we need to take it one game at a time.
Go Noles!

What a depressing season.
Mauri's grandmother.
President Obama.
FSU losing to the Bees.
Wake and Georgia destroying preseason expectations.
Glad that you guys had a good outing at the game. We need to get y'all down to Decatur for some cheap tacos at Taqueria and beers at Thinking Man (you will have wealth left to be redistributed!)Take care.
