Last month a new store opened across the street from our apartment. It is called H&M. Mauri and I had never heard of it until I saw an article about the coming store last Fall. The article and the posts 'fans' posted after the article basically made the place sound like the 2nd coming! Obviously, we were intrigued.
June 13th was 'D' day. The NIGHT before folks started lining up outside the store so they could be the first ones in an possibly win gift cards. Although we wanted to check it out... there was almost no hope of getting into the store opening weekend as the line just to get in stretched around the store!!!
Later the following week Mauri got into the store, but the lines to the dressing rooms and check-outs were just too long so she put her clothes up and headed home. Finally last week I went (the joys of unemployment) and walked around (it was still very busy in the middle of the day). I got a polo for $10 and a bracelet for Mauri (I felt guilty that I bought something for myself when I was supposed to be b-day shopping). The store is pretty cool... this one has men's, women's, teen's, and children's clothes in its 2 stories. It is pretty much like an Old Navy with maybe a slightly hipper feel. Still, it is a worthy addition to the neighborhood and has brought a lot more foot traffic which is always welcome!
Maybe if you come and visit the lines will have died down some!
